This is External vacancy announcement from Global Environmental and occupational Health (GEO Health) Hub for Research and Training in Eastern Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda) is a research and training platform established with grant support from the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Canadian international Development Research Centre (IDRC). The project focuses on air pollution and health, occupational safety and health and climate change research. The school of public Health at Addis University college of Health sciences wants to hire, on contract basis, professionals in the following job positions.

JOB TITLE: DATA CLERK

 

Job Description    

 

  • Data entry and ensuring data quality of the GEO Health hub research activities
  • Assist the hub manager in administrative and financial matters of activities
  • Assist the
  • Work closely with research administrator, data manager, hub manager/administrator and researcher team
  • Collaborate and work harmoniously with GEO Health Hub and SPH/CHS academic and admin support staff
  • Compile field research report periodically and provide timely report to the Research Administrator and /or Data Manager
  • Work on any related assignment pertaining to GEO Health research activities
  • Communicate with partners effectively through pertinent media of communication such as Email and regular Skype calls as appropriate.

 

Qualification & required skills:

 

  • BSc or Diploma in statistics, demography, accounting or Business Administration or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience data entry, cleaning and recording.

 

Monthly Salary:-5300 ETB basic salary with 500 ETB transport allowance and 500 ETB communications allowance; subjected to tax based on Ethiopian tax regulation.

 

Screening process:-Candidate for all positions is expected to go through rigorous recruitment processes based on document review, written exam and interview as appropriate.

 

Workplace:-All positions are Addis Ababa

 

Duration and condition of Employment: one year with possibility of extension to another year based on performance.

The school of public Health of Addis Ababa University, along with three partner universities in Eastern Africa (Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda), has been recently awarded with U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant towards the establishment of a Global Environmental and occupational Health (GEO Health) Hub for eastern Africa. The GEO Health Hub would focus on research, training, and capacity building in air pollution, climate change and health, and occupational safety and health. This regional Hub is seeking a financial management professional hiring on contract basis to administer and manage project resources.
