A minimum of 2 years for progressively responsible in field program or projects and general services with NGOs is required    

  1. Reporting to: SIM community & support services senior manager
  2. Major Responsibility
  • Assist the SIM community & Support services manager and work with all the team in all the development multi years and integrated projects’ activities and ministries pertaining to the provision of various project services, so that their projects address and minister to people in need within SIM Ethiopia’s vision and policies in the umbrella of the Ethiopian given mandate/legal entities       
  1. Basic Responsibilities

6.1. Development sector

  • Organize a baseline /socio economic survey programs, assist new projects’ proposal formulation, appraisals, review project performances
  • Producing sound project yearly, quarterly activity & budgets reports on excel sheets to government and prepare summarized project reports to donors, terminal reports of projects
  • Make regular visits to projects and participate during project evaluations with government and SIM project team and attend Government and NGOs forums at all level in the absence of the manager
  • Familiarize self with the regional states collaboration guidelines & accustomed with the Ethiopian Growth and Transformation Plan Phase II ideas and pillars of each sector to be applied in the NGOs sector
  • Coordinate Tufa small scale irrigation scheme with the zonal, wereda and SIM engineers & experts

6.2. Support Services/General services

 * Flee/vehicle management

- Participate in assigning SIM vehicles to the designated SIM personnel and project use by ensuring authorization

- Create a data base of all SIM vehicles and motor bikes inspection, ensure proper management & insurance updated every  year efficiently and effectively with the authorized service giver firms

   * Purchase & customs clearing

- Ensure work order is complete and approved by authorized person

- Follow with the fleet and general services head on custom clearing

- Participate in purchasing of all the ministries and projects materials (specific task to be given in the process with the other team)

- Facilitate purchase of vehicle spare parts

- Participate in the tendering /auction process including preparation lender documents and name transfer

* Property management

- Organize discard and sales of SIM used items in collaboration with the purchasing committee and compounds management body to potential vendors in collaborating with the assigned sub committees.

-  Organize and follow through the entire process 

sale through auction of SIM 35 plate cars with the Federal CHSA experts & 5 plate sales with the Federal Affairs

- Oversee the material receiving, storage and movement to ensure stock security and dispatching of supplies and materials to the restive projects and ministries and individuals

- keep internal working files and government guidelines /procedures and ensure their application in collaboration with the department manager

* Office management

- Assists the senior manager in office management of support services (proper filing, follow up of pending issues, keep track of vehicle sale and transfer and keep a separate file for 35 plate and 5 plate sales

- Ensure government policies followed by keeping separate files of regulations polices and directives both of CHSA and Federal Affairs

* Perform other similar activities as directed by immediate supervisor

- 3rd class driving license and experience is obligatory

- Good command of spoken and written English & skill and ability to communicate through electronic English medium

- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, organize and plan a head

- Basic computer skill and working regularly on excel spread sheet is advantageous

- Exhibit courtesy and good interpersonal communication and respecting cross-cultural settings

- Willing and able to work in teams, under pressure, with occasional travel to project areas

- Recommendations from person or church recognized by SIM

7. Terms of Employment: permanent after probation period

8. Place of work: Addis Ababa, HQ, with occasional travel to project sites

9. Age 25-40 yrs

10. Salary: Per the organization scale
