Context:

Under the overall supervision of the chief migration Health officer IOM, Addis Ababa, the direct supervision of the pre-departure migration health data processing team leader, the incumbent will assist in updating the database related to pre-departure of migrants and  will carry out the following essential duties to assist the predeparture team

Core Functions /Responsibilities:

  1. Prints hard copes of forms an certificates required for departure  after data entry at pre departure level
  2. Assists the pre-departure nurse and pre-departure physician in entering in an accurate and timely manner into MIMOSA and other relevant IOM database applications all pre-departure-related data.
  3. Assists in the maintenance of records /pre-departure files, ensuring integrity and completeness of data
  4. Assists pre-departure nurse and pre-departure physician in the discharge of duties related to pre-departure, such as providing translation services to migrants about the usage of prophylactic medication during pre-departure counseling etc
  5. Ensures confidentiality and integrity during the discharge of duties
  6. Ensures that services offered are migrant –friendly
  7. Performs any other related duties that may be assigned by the supervisors

Required qualifications and experience

Education

  • University degree in information Management systems, computer science or related field of study, with one years of relevant professional experience, preferably in data entry or similar roles
  • College Diploma in information management systems, computer science or related field of study, with three years of relevant professional experience in data encoding and reporting, data capturing and data management especially in health /clinical setting

Experience

  • Knowledge in data processing and analysis
  • Good writing skill desirable
  • Good knowledge of IOM system (Mimosa) and other data management systems  a plus

Languages

Fluency both written and spoken English and Amharic languages
