Child found Ethiopia,
an international non-profit humanitarian organization working in different regions of Ethiopia for the well being of children, is seeking experienced candidate for the position of Human Resources and Administration Director.

The Human Resources and Administration Director is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to the human resources, procurement, information technology, property administration and office administrative functions of the National office.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the adaptation and implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and systems for the management of human resources and administration (property Administration, procurement, transportation, security) for national office.
  • Responsible for integrating and adapting global IT policies for national office, implementing and identifying technology to be adopted, guarantee effective security systems and networig requirements, and ensure effective implementation of disaster recovery plans
  • Serve as advisor to the National Director and SMT on updated laws and regulations governing NGOs in the areas of HR, and administrative matters and take initiational to ensure national office compliance
  • Functional leadership for the development of security policies, guidelines and standard operating procedures for national and area /field offices. Serves as secondary to the national Director as focal person on all security and emergency issues in-country
  • Ensures compliance with all legal employment obligations in line with existing local labor and other related laws; ensure that code of conduct, child protection, whistle blower and conflict of interest policies are updated, communicated to and observed by all staff.
  • Build the capacity of national office, affiliates and partners HR and Administration teams by ensuring staff is receiving the necessary competence through training and capacity building initiatives, individually or in groups
  • Develops, implements, and monitors overall child Fund’s local staff training and development programs in conjunction with department managers
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Education and experience Required

Education

Bachelor’s degree required: Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Business Management or a related field preferred

Experience

Ten years’ experience

Required  Knowledge, skills and personal attributes 

  • Demonstrated prior HR experience in a management role
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English; Fluency in a local language required
  • Excellent understanding of office administration practices and contract negotiation
  • Computer proficiency in general office software applications (i.e word, excel, Outlook)
  • Proven managerial skills and ability to work and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with employees at all levels
  • Excellent planning, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at the same time, work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong confidentiality ethic, demonstrate flexibility, and versatility in adjusting to changing environments and requirements as necessary
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and cross –cultural skills including the ability to building collaborative relationships internally and externally with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, social and political issues

EDUCATION /CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Business Management or a related field preferred.

Terms of employment:-One year with a possibility of extension based on proven Performance
