Hawassa has been preferred by many people to live due to its suitable weather condition, natural attractions,  business and job opportunity, investment potentials and friendly community. Infrastructures, relatively good schools for children, its centeredness for regional political and socio economic activities and heterogeneity in residents are among the prominent factors making Hawassa an ideal place to live. The cost of houses and other livable goods and services is similar to that of larger cities in the country.

The transport system is not crowded with the exception of high traffic areas like Atote and Mobile in Market days and at the beginning and end of business hours. Once can say no traffic congection on Hawassa roads and pollution.

There are two major open markets in Hawassa that are serving customers with different consumption goods. These markets are widely used in marketii days of Hawassa that are Monday and Thursday. In these days , most of nearby people brings fresh agricultural products and most residents prefer these market days for fresh productsc and higher level of market interaction.

Prices are relatively cheaperid  in these markets and fresh products are available in these open markets that other market places in Hawassa. Theree are crowds specialy in market days and the market is mostly crowded with not well organized merchandizehg facilities.

Health Services in Hawassa

There are a number of health facilities, academic centers and other social service delivering governmental and non governmental organizations. These organizations delivr variety of services  for its residents in different areas of the city . These service providing organizations are preffered by Hawassa city residents and other areas of the region for education and health facilities. 

 

Schools in Hawassa 

There are a number of Government and Private Schools in Hawassa that are giving services in Hawassa. Most of private schools are growing in their accomodation capacity and service delivery is being improved from time to time. To this end education bureau is following them regularly. However, there are disparities in quality and students accomodation trend between government and private schools due to various factors. In 2007 E.C the share of students who have pass mark for Ethiopian Universities regular admission is 98 % from private and 83 % from government schools.
